Survey Drafter — Remote or In-Office

What You'll Do

Alliance Land Surveyors is looking for experienced Survey Drafters to convert raw field data into professional, RPLS-ready survey plats using AutoCAD. This role is available fully remote or in-office at our San Antonio location — your choice. We send you the field data, you produce the deliverables.

You'll draft boundary surveys, property surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS plats, tree surveys, as-builts, and other survey types. Each project comes with field data, deed research, and the project manager's notes. You draft it, the RPLS reviews and seals it.

• Draft survey plats from raw field data in AutoCAD (DWG format)
• Process boundary, property, topographic, ALTA, tree, as-built, and other survey types
• Calculate closures, areas, and verify field measurements
• Research and plot easements, setbacks, and title exceptions on survey plats
• Prepare metes and bounds descriptions when needed
• Coordinate with the project manager and RPLS on revisions and corrections
• Deliver completed drafts for RPLS review and sealing

What You Need

• AutoCAD proficiency — you must be comfortable drafting survey plats in AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience a plus)
• Survey drafting experience — understanding of boundary surveys, legal descriptions, easements, and survey plat conventions
• Own AutoCAD license and computer(remote only) — in-office drafters use company equipment and software
• Familiarity with Texas survey standards (TSPS Manual of Practice) preferred
• Ability to read and interpret deed descriptions, recorded plats, and title commitments
• Strong attention to detail — the RPLS depends on accurate drafting
• Reliable communication — responsive to email and able to meet turnaround deadlines

Pay & Structure

• Pay structure: Per-survey flat rate based on the complexity and type of each survey. Paid bi-weekly.
• Employment type: 1099 independent contractor. You manage your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
• Location: Remote from anywhere, or in-office at our San Antonio location (18410 U.S. Hwy 281 N #109). Your preference.
• Schedule: Flexible. You manage your own queue and turnaround times. Consistent volume available for those who want steady work.
• Software: Remote drafters provide their own AutoCAD license and workstation. In-office drafters use company equipment. Alliance provides templates, title blocks, and layer standards for both.
